I'm not a serious professional in this subject, but this is what I have to show as my final portfolio through many years. I spent a lot of time with graphics before I found myself interested in music and other activities.

I've earlier been known as "Maximus" throughout 2000-2004 at the discussion board www.photoshopcafe.com, where I knew some other peeps also going wild in the graphics program Photoshop. I guess most of these guys proceeded to new, higher levels of visual design. I'd also like to mention that my technological website skills are at a low level, I pretty much prefer the designing and the colours itself (check the source of this page in particular - it is madness).

nuust.com - version two

Unsatisfied with nuust.com's previous colours and up-to-date quality and personality, I finally decided to paint something new. More colours than ever before, experimental header and a more solid border creates a better visual representation of what I am today. Reasoned by this website's blog purposes, I just had to take it that far. Naturally, I love this design because I'm the one who created it, although since it's more experimental than my previous ones, and because I put (perhaps too) much love into it, I can't expect many to like it. Especially not the green background. I'd just conflict myself if I made such an expectation. Made in December '07/January 08'. Happy new year!

The Orange Factory

This was an advanced version of nuust.com. In other words, I overhauled nuust.com. The site is my previous band's website - we had a dire need for it as we had some concerts going on, as well as our previous "free forum" for private discussion got deleted. So I quickly decided to make a website, including a heavily modified forum (SMF-forum) visually. Made in Summer '07.

nuust.com - version one

This was my pioneer design for my first domain, proceeding from the popular .tk-service providing a short domain name already. Though - I just wanted a personal domain, as well as grabbing the nickname Nuust, since some other guy in Polen has "Nuust" as his surname. So here I were - not only did the new webdesign look better than nuust.tk, but it was more personal due to the fact I was in a ground zero position just before entering upper secondary school. Thus, the green colours represented my personality and confidence, while the light-grey background represented the coming unknown happenings, open for new experience. Made in Spring '07.

nuust.tk - version 7

Learning how to use the pen tool in Photoshop, I began to make some curves. Also discovering the fresco filter, I enjoyed the visuality of the header in this design. Having a look at it now makes me smile - the rest of the website isn't pretty looking, but boring. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit. Made in 2005.

SCEK.org

Simply blue - a new layout was requested from the motorcycle club/organisation SCEK (my father knew these guys, that way I got the job). Random payment was a pair of awesome goggles. Not fancy-looking, it was my first try on something "serious", or a design for someone else than myself. So, seriously awesome did not turn out seriously awesome. Made in 2004.

nuust.tk - version 6

Missing the whole graphical interface (I lost it), this is all I have left. The top banner. And the contents. The thumbnail shows the right side of the banner - I focused on getting a crisp, rusty look. It was quite fancy, but the menu interface was "fugly". It was the first time I used Nuust in website relations (previous versions were actually having my real name as website title). Made in 2004.

stisk.tk

A friend of mine in Southern Norway wanted a design. Unsure of what he liked preferred, I made him this frosty kind of thing. Made in 2003.

nuust.tk - version 5

Newly inspired by traditional Japanese art styles, I decided to proceed from version 4. The Japanese signs is supposed to be my name in Kanji, using a Japanese Kanji Editor. Made in 2002.

nuust.tk - version 4

Seeing my brother making totally radical stuff, I gasped and actually made a similar version of his newest work. It turned out less professional though - and some guys at photoshopcafe.com got really mad at me for doing this kind of madness. Made in 2002.

nuust.tk - version 3

Woah - that's old-fashioned! In this project, I learnt how to use ImageReady, slicing up images in a graphical part to work as links in a menu. Experimental. Made in 2001.

nuust.tk - version 2

After a while, orange colour became my favourite colour.

nuust.tk - version 1

Wearing all black clothes, it came as a natural decision to make a totally black website. I also had a try making a logo. I thought it looked like Buddhas head twisted with the nuclear logo. No blasphemy intended, I had no idea at this time. I also learnt how to use iFrames, whatever the crapidodoo it means. Made in 2000.

WarMachine

Thinking about war, it became a picture I had to finalize. War is quite slippery - having one and another strategy on how to beat the opponent. I can't remember exactly what I thought about the picture when I made it, but seeing it now doesn't make me disappointed. But the picture tells a story of war - and as we see the different pictures in the composition, we read from left to right from top to bottom, receiving a story of what war is. I don't know if I knew this principe of art at that time, and I'm quite unsure what I felt about it... Interpret it yourself. Made in 2001.

Satan's Paradise

Someone told me about the Devil - his twisted mind, evilness and madness. Perhaps it was some guy, perhaps it was what religious education learnt me in primary school. All I can remember was that I imagined how "the most evil person ever's" paradise would look like, and then I made this piece of mix between joy, pleasure, emptiness and grown-up's childishness in the midst of it all. Made in 2001.

Red Sky

The story of 9/11 shook me to the bone - it freaked me out for a while that people simply did this for whatever they wanted. Either way - what has happened has led to a lot of deaths, not only because of the terrorist's actions, but also because of the misunderstanding of cultures and not seeing the roots for all of this madness. Made in 2001.

Bad feelings

I made this picture because of boredom. And boredom is not a positive thing - also proving that I were having bad feelings. As for now, the picture shows what bad feelings creates and shows - the reminder of what to not feel like. Thus, the image itself isn't quite that spectacular. Made in 2001.

FutureRobot

As a result of making the visuals of roughly brushed metal in TrackMania skins (see below), I wanted to draw my own concept model instead of having a finished 3D model already. It became two birds - I prefer the non-coated version. I also think some random movie inspired me. I have no idea why, though. I don't like rooftops. Made in 2004.

Phoenix

Only a Photoshop-technique brag, I began to love the "Smudge"-tool. So why does the "fire bird" spit electrical bolts of its mouth? Well, in the Gameboy game Pokemon, I had some bird Pokemons with tremendous power (Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos) who all had different powers - electric, fire and ice. I was quite pissed that Moltres sucked, so I thought of a bird which had all these three powers, and it became Phoenix, surprisingly. Made in 2000.

Outer Space

Whether if this is art or not, I believed it was so in 2002, being proud with many other Photoshoppers that everything we did, was art. It's still just a fancy picture which I still like, although there's no point in it except experimenting with the image of gases in the Universe and bending and transforming my old monogram. Made in 2003.

Trivia: Before I hooked up with my girlfriend, she called this piece of material something else than art. I was disappointed in the fact that it might not be art, contra what I already thought.

Green Delight

I was having fun., and it was radical. I was actually toying around with a Photoshop tutorial for making something, but I decided it worked better for creating an asteroid! Made in Spring '04.

The picture itself is a 1280x sized wallpaper. However, feel free to edit the size.

Dream

As all love goes, it must come out and be shared. Again this happened, and it flowed through my eyes onto a LCD monitor. Drawn by hand, imaged with a camera, coloured and edited.

Tribute to my girlfriend, made in 2006.

The Mouse

Optimistic as a mouse can be, this mouse is extraordinarily optimistic. Thumbs up for optimism. Made for us to remind us of the present. Drawn by hand, scanned, coloured and edited.

Made in 2005.

Cake situation

Humourous madness, as I ate up some cake my girlfriend made for some event some day in the future. When drawing this, I was in very deep love with cakes. Graphical inspiration from Internet comic MacHall. Drawn by hand, scanned, coloured and edited.

Made in 2005.

Personal logo

During 6th and 7th grades at primary school, I had a monogram using my name initials (CV). Basically rotate the C 90° CW and paste it on top of the V. This monogram became my logo for nuust.tk version 1 to 5. Check version 5 for its final shape, until I ultimately changed it into my current logo. Basically, it became an extremified monogram with tags and visible appearance of an X into the "monogram". I loved the outcome of this logo so much I denied to make a new, personal logo as an assignment after the birth of the logo in the art class in secondary school. However, I did make a new logo, but I disliked it.

The logo holds some type of "futuristic" image, still abstract, but also bound to some time when the logo "works". I guess it'll become old-fashioned some day.

Made in 2004.

TrackMania car skins/paint jobs

First of all, I'd like to thank another community paint job designer "Siuras" from Poland for great inspiration on how to make these skins.

In 7th grade of primary school, I was quite interested in games and found a game called TrackMania. It was all about racing - but also creating your tracks. Innovative and creative. But the game's cars' had quite boring paint jobs, so I decided to make my own. My latest skins were the two in the bottom right corner - experimenting with TrackMania's in-game graphics engine, making a rough, shiny metallic colour. The trucks were the most boring cars due to the lack of shading - the most essential paint job would be in anime-style, with simple, cartoon figures. The rest were 4 perfected versions of my 4 first skins ever. Made in the period of 2002-2005.

I still see random TrackMania game videos using some of these skins - actually the first time I knew about this was late in 2007, and I never knew how far my "skins" came into the game's community. Since I spent a lot of time experimenting with the game's graphical shading (it had parallax mapping!!!) and had a lot of fun making these skins, I'd just like to say thanks for liking them.

Some of these skins can be found right here.
